Original Sin

SCRIPTURE PASSAGES DEALING WITH THE BIBLE-TEACHING OF "ORIGINAL SIN," that human nature apart from God's working is totally corrupt, inherited from Adam through our parents. It has made us spiritually blind, dead, and enemies of God, full of evil desires and with no understanding of spiritual things from God without HIS acting to change the condition. The condition makes people afraid concerning the things of God, wanting to run away from Him rather than turn towards Him.

  Genesis 5:3 People are born in Adam's "image," not God's, since the fall into sin.
  Romans 5:12 Death comes from sin through Adam.
  Romans 5:18 One sin brought condemnation for everyone.
  Psalm 51:5 People are sinners in the womb, before birth.
  John 3:6 Flesh gives birth to flesh = Sinners give birth to sinners.
  Romans 8:5-8 Our sinful natures have made us God's enemies, making it impossible to please Him ourselves.
  Galatians 5:17, 19 Sinful nature is set against what is spiritual.
  1st Corinthians 15:22 In Adam all die.
  Romans 7:18 The sinful nature has NOTHING "good."
